Early mk2 172’s

Did all mk2 172s, even the early ones come with EBD or not?!

I know the first mk2s didnt have the ESP (traction) system fitted and wondered if these ones had EBD or not. If so, did mk1s have it as well then?

Also, when was the ESP fitted as standard?!

My old 172 was an early Mk2 and there was no mention EBD anywhere. I thought that it came it at the same time as ESP.

EBD is std from 2001 on. it might be refered to as EBFD

AFAIK EBD was from the start, ESP wasnt (as J said Sept02)

My friends brother has a very very early mk2 172. Y plate i think. Its always going wrong! Im talking even more than usual.

So a 51 Reg mk2 172 from Dec 2001 will have EBD (or EBFD) then!

And ESP is from 52 Reg onwards...

Got mine in Dec02 from Renault Manchester.

Asked the dealer if it had ESP and he said No, only when I was driving and noticed the ESP button next to my knee I realised it had!!
