EBC Greenstuff - where from?

Haha if this thread doesnt stop him buying them he must be mad i had yellow stuff and thought they were crap!
 
I thought the yellow stuff were ok, nothing compared to the carbone Lorraine's I have on the 182
 
EBC direct have always been cheapest for me. Had Greens on my 1.2, best pad I've ever used, used greens on the XR2 racecar too - far better performance per buck than Ferodo/CL offerings.

Not tried them on the Cup, but unless you're braking like a r****d and racing to work every day, you won't have a problem. Most people don't bed pads in properly, have problems, then blame the pad.
 
Price of these compared to the ds2500 used the 2500 and yellow stuff and the ds were miles better IMO
 
Depends if you want to pay £40 for a set of pads, or £120. 99.9% of people won't be able to quantify DS2500 as more than three times better.
 
Tbh if it's just for road std pads are fine. It depends on budget and wether you will go on track, rather than convince yourself you will and spend a few quid more.
 
I used to use Greenstuff on my Pug 306 S16 donkeys years ago and really rated them . Never used to fade and almost no brake dust on the wheels . I'm guessing they've changed the compound as they always get slated on here .

well I could get them to fade to literally nothing in 3 roundabouts in a 205 gti. This would have been 2002ish. Since then I've had them disintegrate and fall out of the caliper entirely on 2 separate cars. In over a million miles of driving that hasn't happened with any other brand of pad.

Like I said, not even if they were free

Maybe they will . I'm just saying when i used them on my Pug , must be about 13 ish years ago now i never had a problem with them . Never faded and the fact they produced bugger all brake dust was a bonus . I've never used them since so couldn't comment on how they perform today . They do get slated on here though , i'm assuming not everybody who says they're sh1t has used them , because thats how Cliosport operates . There are people on here who know from experience and have valued opinions and i listen to those opinions too and people who just jump on the bandwagon and take it for granted that because somebody said something then it must be gospel . I certainly wasn't doubting anyones word .
 
I was being funny mate and agree with what you have wrote. I've only ever used the yellow stuff ones and thought for the money they were good. Not in the same league as my current pads though. Like you say if you ask people if they have used them and they are honest with their reply, there will be alot of 'I've heard they are crap' but on the flip side there are people that are trusted that say they are rubbish and I do tend to listen to them
 
I had EBC greenstuff and EBC driled/grooved discs on my Rover 200 Turbo (back in 2000!) and they were shockingly bad!

That's the only info I can offer.
 
I've seen lots of good reviews of the DS2500'S , then i've seen people say they've had them fall apart and like dan says , they're not exactly cheap . Also seen people say Mintex 1144's are crap , which i'm currently using and have been for 18 months . Personally , i've never had a problem with them , they do squeal quite a bit , especially when new . I guess it's like anything though . People will have good and bad experiences with everything . Listening to people on here does help , but at the end of the day you pay your money and you take your chances .
 
I used them, thought they were good, and they last for ages to!
 
The only pads ive used with no issues are pagid blue. But they are expensive.

Anyone using greenstuff needs their head read, more expensive than OE and far far worse. About the only advantage is dust but id rather clean my wheels more and have brakes that work.
 
I've only ever had one set of pads fade and these were OE fitment on the 205 after 8 quick laps of Anglesey on the old circuit at a track day, I need to try harder!

Harhar !! thats why your so quick you dont use the brakes!
 
Crap pads.

Had them on my C2 with Pagid R discs. Did 5 laps of brands @ 75% and they were ruined. Damaged the disc as well & smoked a treat.
 
Had them on my last car.

Thought they were great. Done around 20k with them in, never any issues.
