EBC "Red Stuff" Pads

  RB 182
Anyone bought these or used them at all? Seen them a few times on ebay... Are they as good as or better than the trusted Green Stuff pads?

  Clio 182 Trophy 047/500
I have used them on numerous cars, the bite you get from them is much better than the Greenstuff.

They cope much better than the standard stuff under extreme use as well.

Just about to fit a set to the trophy with a set of braided lines, which should make the braking 100% better than it is at the moment.

Thnaks Steve :)

Do they squeel under breaking on low speeds? Similar to the Mintex? I'm going to purchase some, just never seen them on any of the top mod clio sites...

I find that the squeel a little from cold but no where near as bad as the mintex i used to have on my old clio, they were dreadful all of the time.

One problem i have found with the EBC pads is the anti dust feature, yeah its great with silver wheels as but on the dark wheels it leaves a white dust as opposed to a black dust. So the term reduced dust leaves a bit to be desired. LOL.

You will find a lot of people talk about ferodo, mintex, EBC at the end of the day its each to their own, I have used Mintex and didnt like them, On the other hand if I where to take the car to track days, i would probably go for a different fast road and track pad, rather than the RedStuff.

i have these on my rear. I use the yellow on the front and the bite is realy good on these brakes. Top marks!!!

Yellow on the front... Oh my... Is that a step up or down from the Red Stuff? I have no idea how they are graded... lol

Yellow is better than red, Its classified as a extreme road and track pad. In terms of usabitlity on the road, they do need a little bit of heating up before they are spot on for braking

How quickly do yellows chew your discs though?

Worth thinking about....there's always a downside.

I always thought the yellows were a little too full on for normal road use.

May try out a set of reds...just in the process of 'finishing off' my OE Renault pads at the moment.
