You should go to the person who sold you the car at the dealership and tell them that your not happy and if they will have a word with the service dept on your behalf sometimes when you go in wound up i'm sure the service people get kicks off it and act even more tw*ty. I sat in with the manager of the service dept arguing for nearly half an hour to get a new steering wheel which is another 'problematic' item well know by renault

Ive not checked this on the car, if i did, id prob find it damaged and therefore another thing to hate on the car.

Well I rang another dealers who told me they will have to see it first, but they should be able to do it. They were so much more helpful! Only problem is getting it to this other dealers for them to look at, then getting it back to fix if they say yes. I'm not wasting my holiday at work!

I would, but I don't really see why I should have to when I've got a garage round the corner, that's why it's so damn annoying! And if it was just the one day then maybe, but I will have to take it down there twice because they want to see it first before they say if they will fix it. It's a bit risky calling in sick too, I work in a car dealers, and some of our drivers might see me in my car, because they drive around that way quite a bit to pick up parts and go to the dvla. Would be just my luck I'd get caught!!

Lol, I've yet to go in there, but that may be next on my agenda! My bf's going in next week for some work on his car, so I think he's gong to have a word!

Well just to update:
Renault Romford are now going to fix it under warranty!! My bf has just been down there to have some work done on his car, and I don't know what he said to them yet, but he's just called me to tell me they've agreed to do it under warranty and they're just ordering the part!!

Yep, apparently the service or branch manager of about 4 branches was down at the time, so my bf said he wanted a complaint form, and she said that it can be repaired under warranty anyway, and it's booked in for this thursday! I'm waiting while it's being done too, so I know my cars not going to be mis-treated lol!

I understand the principle of getting it fixed under warrenty. Mine is broken too. There isn't much point in getting it replaced though, as they will replace it with the exact same part, and it will break too in time.
Renault haven't changed the manufacture of this part.
Best bet is to jam some foam in behind the ECU to stop it rattling. Or make up a bracket your self from something other than mild steel.

Been to Renault today about this and my orange engine light which i reported wednesday (which has since gone out). I needed to go down there as the bracket is in 3 seperate parts and they needed to see which bit to order in, I asked the guy on the phone if this was under warrenty and he said it should and i have warrenty until october.
Went down there today and a guy comes to have a look and wanted to charge me for the part, i told him i wasn't paying as that isn't general ware and tare and he said well if i pay and on tuesday when they fit it if they say its a warrenty job then they will refund me. I refused his offer and told him to explain how it happens an he said well I havn't seen you drive, to which i replied with explain how that can happen through driving and how so many other people have the fault.
Basically he couldn't answer and said come and bring the car down on monday and speak to the people who will be dealing with it.
so I'll update you on monday, Im deffinatley not paying thats for sure. It Renault Enfield for anyone interested.
