ECU Error Codes - Help!

  Clio Dynamique 16v
Girlfriend has been having problems with her Clio the last few days

She has a warning light come on (the orange one under the fuel warning light)

Car loses all power and she has to pull over, restart the car and it usualy clears

Car is a 2002 1.2 16v mk2 ph2

Took the car to a friends today where he read the fault codes:

1004 Manifold Pressure Sensor Circuit
107D Throttle Unit Automatic Control
1011 Vehicle Speed Information
1044 Upstream Sensor Signal Input
1041 Throttle Angle Sensor
105A Fuel Circuit Functional Fault

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers, Jon

Yup, i dont think those are your problems lol.

The 1.2 16v suffers from a major problem due to hoe the wiring loom enters the ECU.

Located at the back of the engine, the loom enters into a "secure" box which has metal edges.

This cuts into the loom and breaks the wiring.

Its more then likely the problem with yours, there is a modified loom available.

Parts about £158+VAT (was a while back)
Fitting, anywhere between £100-£250.

Depending on damage caused, existing loom maybe repairable. Be sure to get some rubber to go round the metal edges of the box also.

Also, the same loom suffers from water ingress due to its location. Maybe a combination of the 2 problems.

DO NOT unplug the ECU connectors with the battery connected.

PM me if u need any help

^^^ thanks for the reply

About 6 months ago the car was misfiring and the SERV and Emissions lights were coming on

Took the car back where we bought it (was under warranty) and they said it had missed its ECU wiring recall? and they then replaced the loom

They showed me the box at the back of the engine and the replaced loom so I'll go and have a look at it now

Anything else it might be?

No probs.

Ah so its been back.

If they didnt add any protection to the new loom, or left the box without any rubber/gaurding then the fault *may* have come back with the same issue.

I used fuel pipe cut in half to go over the metal edge. Was fine after that.

With that many faults listed i dont see it all being them unless your unlucky.
My money is on the connector blocks/loom again.

Maybe there is some water ingress this time or as said broken loom again.

Maybe someone else can shed some light on any other problems that may cause the above faults.

Turns out it was the loom where it goes into the connection block

Used a cut rubber pipe and lots of insulation tape on the loom and its fine now :D

Thanks for the help! Jon
