i dont think they can ........
I could just say It was like it when I bought it and I had no knowledge of the remap though. Couldn't I?
They dop on any cars which remaps are common 172/182 with any mods or any modified car ie exhaust they'd check quite likly with big claims.I seem to remember a post many moons ago by a member who worked for an insurance company. Apparently, one of the first things their claims assessors do is to check the ECU for the number of re-flashes, especially on a car such as a 172/182. They then cross reference this with the data held on file with dealers/manufacturer et voila, they can then tell if the car has an un-disclosed remap.
Insurance investigators can plug there own PC's in and check the ECU codes they don't need the Clip.yea they can check in an accident an so can the police now days on some thing calld a clip?
Own up and pay up mate because its better specially if you do get checkd then your fully legal
Most places won't replace modified with modified parts they just return to standard. My thoughts on declaring mods' are that not only are you fully covered and are removing a reason for them not to pay out but most decent companies will also replace the mod in the event of a claim rather than just use a standard part.
