if i fitted an induction kit does the ecu need to be fettled? also i heard a laguna throttle body would fit my rt so would the ecu need changing? what sort of places could do it for me and how much?
i dont get the FBW issue. Its easy enough to make it back into a traditional cable throttle linkage and most TB conversions would do that anyway. If it wasnt FBW, is there a better TB in the Reno range that would fit the F4R then? Dont understand the V6 TB route either, isnt that for a V6? 6ports etc etc?
the V6 still uses a common single TB plenham.......so no wories if it feeds 4 or 24 pistons.
The move to FBW is odd yes, but it allows more precise idle and emissons control, it wont let you rag it to death when cold etc etc etc.......
converting to cable would mean a new ECU as they are totally diff, the cable provides a reading, on FBW the pedal provide the reading and the computer controlls the throttle. All very complex but simple at the same time.....
even if it was cable, there is no other TB you can really use.
mmm, there has to be... Efjie in France sell a mod with a single larger TB. They wouldnt say where they got it from, but claim its not reno. Mind you at the price might as well go for a proper individual TB setup.
Well, Ill have to stop at head/valve work and enjoy the summer on track. Looks like TBs is for next season. Too late now as I dont want downtime from early July to end Sep.
no details given. http://www.efjie.comwww.efjie.com, click on "distribution", select renault, scroll down to accessoires and there you have it. No piccies etc, but they say theyll happily take the car in do the single TB mod and cars good for 200+ (with ecu/breathing). dunno really. bout to crash - early day tomorrow.
