Aftermarket ECU systems that come with looms. How do the looms fit to different engine or are they all universal and can be wired to any engine?

different (but similar) for every engine (wire lengths etc)

Would it fit a 172 engine and will it map to work with the engine?

Yeah it will if you buy a loom to suit!

kind of, most ecu systems you have to make your own loom

The kit comes with a loom thats why i wanted to know if it would fit becuase i wouldnt have thought that one loom would fit all engine

Yeh probably if it was a thursday or a friday. Ive seen Yoz a few times but not you.

i was in there the other week pressing a bearing into a hub, there were a few student looking types working on a car up near the press by me

I was probably wearing either a grey top or a brown one. all the others have a matching T-shirt so i was the odd one out. yeh ive noticed quite a few parts from a clio upstairs, hubs exhaust alloys interior strut brace n random bits of engine

alot of standalone's come with a 1m or 2m loom say, with bare ends, ready for you to trim to length and fit plugs to suite your sensors. some companys sell plug and play stuff
