ECU

So, had an auto eleccy round tonight, who had a play around with the car, with no luck. Now my CLIP isn't reading the ECU at all, so i'm thinking it's the ECU that's fubard. So options;

1)send it to a place in warrington to see if it's fixable?
2)get a second hand ECU/UCH etc for it and swap the lot?
3)get a second hand ECU and reprogramme it

Question is, ECU wise, is it ok to use any clio ecu on the 182 so long as it's reprogrammed to suit and has the same connection, or does it have to be the same?

Anyone knows how risky is to buy a re-programmed ECU? for example: eBay link
I only got the part no. 82 00 621 763 and stock price is around 200 quid

That's only the airbag ecu mate, but yeah they can be messed with.
