EGP or Ultra deep shine

  145db Euro'd clio
which is better/ would you reccomend. or both?

Post hiow you clean your car etc.
I wash using two bucket method.
Hose down, leather off
clay
another hose
leather
SRP by hand
SRP with machine
Meg's cleaner wax
Megs gold class wax x2

anything i should add or take away?

EGP works well after SRP. Only used UDS once, but found it very hard to remove, maybe it was me and the way I used it but I didnt like it.

No need to dry the car in between 1st wash and clay. But wash it after you have clayed then dry it.

I'd skip the SRP by hand if your using machine.

Edit - EGP is actually a sealant, so it could go, SRP by machine, EGP, then the wax

Totally different products lad, one is a "polish" the other is a superb sealent.

Loads of threads on how you should clean your car; have a look at the guides section on the left of this page as well. The cleaning guide is on the last page (technically the first page).

To quote you as follows;
I wash using two bucket method. Good
Hose down, leather off will scratch the car massively
clay you don't need to do this more than twice a year.
another hose you need to wash the car again after claying
leather NO NO NO
SRP by hand Either or, if you have a decent machine, great, but by the sounds of it you are not a detailer so wouldn't use the machine you have.
SRP with machine as above
Meg's cleaner wax pointless stuff, use EGP
Megs gold class wax x2 not bad, prefer other waxes

See the old Gold Glass polish...I.e the old forumula - it's awesome for gloss! I've still got a tiny bit left. May have a bit of fun with it next time i'm home.

What are you talking about now ya wee soft lad? Where did gold class polish enter into the convo? What would you say . . . get tae?

cheers guys. i think i might just get the egp. and how am i meant to dry the car then? because i dont have a clue! always used a leather. and i dont clay my car more than about once every 4-5 months. so thats okay there. and the machine i have is alright, im not a detailing freak. car is 11years old, so has trolley dents etc and odd scratch here and there (although hardly noticable now)
never used EGP but everyone i talk to rates it. but the ultra deep shine did look appealing

and as for waxes.. what would you suggest?
poorboys seem very appealing after my mate did his vtr and was shinier than mine! :(
also heard alot about dodo juice?

OK;

Dry the car with as plush a towel as you can find such as the I4Detailing towels (have a looky at their website).

EGP is your best bet. Light coats, leave to cure for as long as poss, buff off. Simples.

Waxes wise, something like R222 (aka P21s) is very good, there are so many threads arguing different waxes!! If you want beading for a long time, collinites 476, but the look of it is nothing special.

Dodo juice is . . . . Paul's territory ;)

I use Dodo Blue Velvet and although the finish/look is awesome..it dont last very long :(

Slightly off topic but kind of related (saves me having to start another thread)

Why, when I apply Wax, and take it off am I sometimes left with marks where the wax has been? Hard to describe but it looks almost blemished.. It comes off eventually after buffing for about 5 mins of so.

i have loads of microfibers, could i just use one of these?

the r222 looks good judging by the looks of that review! lol

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/dodo-juice/dodo-juice-blue-velvet/prod_404.html ???

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/chemical-guys-pete-39-s-53-paste-wax/prod_337.html heard some stuff abut chem guys aswell

I get this also. looks as if there is still a very very thin layr of wax on there..?
i usualy get it off by using a little srp on a cloth and then letting it haze then buffing off. seems to do it! but then obviously you've polished over your wax and yeah... ugh its all too confusing!

Snow foam.. If you wanted to do it on the cheap.

£15 odd for Snow Foam
£40-80 for a decent cheap P/W
£40 for the lance

Add that all up £150 odd max. Although If I ever buy another P/W im going to get a 3 series karcher so bits can be replaced easily.

RE waxes as Jamie said just get what-ever you want...end of the day someone will tell you .."oo this is good" and others will say its s**t! Dont get the Blue Velvet..id go with Collinites or R222 as suggested above

Wax may have been left too long. Most waxes should be done panel by panel. If it is in sunlight it will cure too much and go like candle wax on clothes or table cloths and be a pain to get off. Make sure you do one panel at a time.

What do you want the MFs for fella? Must have missed the use :)

Chem guy's 50:50 is very good for the money, as is Pete's 53.

Snow foaming is another step in the cleaning process. If you want to start cleaning your car meticulously (sp) then yes it is great and I swear by it to remove surface crap before I wash. But tbh, you can go too far with spending and stages of cleaning.

I get this also. looks as if there is still a very very thin layr of wax on there..?

The latter part means you are polishing off the wax and any sealent Richy. As above with this stuff really mate.

Always do one panel at a time..only leave it for 5 mins.. in fact I did the bonnet last night..did half with an applicator and the other half by hand.... Quite like applying it by hand...seems to get more heat into the panels and I made go a lot further (wax wise, you get what I mean!)

Left for a few mins whilst I had a ciggy then removed... parts of it came off fine like the edges of the bonnet and all the way up till I hit near the washer jets and that area..that was a bit of a git to remove, well it came off but then had sort of trails on it. Just kept buffing it until it dissappeared

Was in the shade and cool last night. Maybe they are marks further down I.e at polishing stage and not caused by the wax.

Going to visit my webb footed friend soon anyway (db) and get him to machine polish her I think

Could well be some contaminants on the panels fella. These could be reacting with the panels and causing this issue. I find that if a panel is in poor condition, polishing looks different in certain areas until the polish is worked in. Looks flat rather than even swirls of polish.

Thats what I think it is contaminants. Anyhow il be speaking to darren soon I hope to see if he can sort me out soon and se what he reckons we can do :)

Not noticeable now I have buffed it all off...il see if the photo's I took last night show it and post some up maybe.

so no-body would rate the megs stuff?
lol
i quite like it but everyone else seems differently
i think i might go for some EGP and either the poorboys stuff or the r222 probably the poorboys as its cheaper. :)

cheers for all the help guys!!!!! much appreciated and very helpful. anything else i should know? cars monaco blue btw! lol any tips from the monaco owners on how to give it that realllllly deep shine?

Aye lad, bit far away that! There are a number of members that want me to come down that way! Mght have to book out a week or so for you all!!
