EGR Light Flashing 1.2 Clio

A friend was driving into work this morning in his 1.2 Clio and the "EGR" light started flashing.

He noticed he had very little power to accelerate but could actually drive the car. He said it started to splutter a bit.



It is the bottom light o this picture.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

He has took it to a garage but dont want to be ripped off if it is just going to be something daft.

Had the exact same problem. Coilpack. Very common problem

EDIT: Easy enough to change one yourself.

As above, flashing light means coilpacks gone.
