I went out and bought that silverline rotary polisher, having never used a machine polisher and it's a piece of piss too use, just don't be stupid with it and you wont do any damage.
^^^ Yes I did the same. But there are times when a DA is better. You dont know how much paint is on the car to correct, therefore your more likely to burn through with a Rotary.
Your also assuming most people are like me and you and have a bit of common sense (no dis-respect to the OP!!)
Ok so ive been lookin at kits so i can get goin straight away, these are the ones im looking at... i cant decide between then now, so i would greatly appreciate some outside influence..
Theres an orbital sander in my garage that looks very similar to those machine polishers, does the same job I suppose... If I got some polishing pads and a spare panel to practise on, does anyone reckon the orbital will produce the same result as these?
all the kits will get you started for correction, but you need to prep the panel before machining it. Wash, de tar, clay, plenty of MF clothes for wiping down. after machining the panel should be cleaned or wiped down, then you start on cleansers / glazes / sealants / waxes etc etc etc.
As said all this will have already been asked on the 1st couple of pages of the car detailing sub section.
