So how hard do you think it would be to fit electric motors to drive the rear wheels?

You should be a little less serious.
You'd need to loose the rear seats probably, you'd need a diff (borrowed from an old ford or something), then the diff would need to be mounted and theres no room for that.....chop the car up and reweld. Then theres a custom trailing arm suspension setup need to be fabricated and mounted into stengthened points on your car, not to mention altering the track on the rear diff setup (more chop and weld)......and we havent even started on batteries generators and motors yet.
Then there is the electronics that tells the motor when to act as a generator (that or a 500Kilo battery).

End result, really heavy POS
