Electrical fault, anyone had similar?

Basically the car runs fine, the trip computer works fine, but the lcd display and aftermarket head unit seem to have no power going to it? Earlier I noticed the trip computer and clock display was going from dim to bright? but this has since stopped happening, I'm sure it's somehow linked?
Not sure why this was, anyone got any idea?
Any solutions also would be great! Thanks!

my trip display and dash lights would dip when i pressed the brakes, was a short in the harness, brake light cluster problem... might be happening to you as well

The lights in the heater panel and display led also only come on with the lights on? Which is not right us it? How did you get that fixed man? Garage?
