Electrical Help!

hey ive got an alpine CDE-9880r in my clio that i recently got help get fitted, the bloke in halfruads who helped fit it (me and my dad both had a go and had no luck). when he wired it in he said he had to adjust a couple of wires and that the headunit would only be fully off with the faceplate taken off. (non of wires on the clio where changed just on back of h/u)

so soon with dads help i want to re-wire it to the ignition for when i put in amp and speakers BUT yesterday i came back to my car and the battery was dead, caput wouldnt even take any charge and the eletric's would barely start and the engine wouldnt even atempt to turn on

im suspiocuse my headunit even with the faceplate off is slowly draining the battery? (its been in there since last thursday the h/u) and ive baught a new battery today

any help to as if it is/could be my h/u?

yes it will,d/c it asap,with fascia on or off,power is still going to the unit

thats fault no 1 !!!!! sounds like he's not wired it up correctly mate you need to take the front off to totally stop the unit dis-charging the battery, remove the unit and find the switched live and permenant live will probably be wired together OR the wrong way round... just use a test light to find the right wires from the loom to connect to your h/unit and youv'e solved the problem...
