Whats the idea of these? Do we have any MOT testers on here who know how the test differs?
I guess they're to cut down on fraud and to make it easier to check up on cars via a central database, but how will it stop a dodgy tester passing a car that shouldn't pass!?
It has details such as if the car should have a cat etc, so I've been told there's no way of getting away with that any more if you need one on. They also know how long the test took to make sure it's long enough that everything's been checked. It also goes straight onto the database so dvla know you've got an MOT. Means you can tax your car online if you want as they already know if you've got the right papers.
Hasn't everywhere got the new system put in now? I thought the deadline had already been met and the old system was supposed to be out?
Dont think the deadline has passed yet, but is getting close, just wondered how it was all going to work. So the actual test isn't changing in anyway then?
