Emails through a server

  '02 Monaco Blue 172
I currently have a small home server setup (MS server 2003 on an old pc) that I can access from my mac and pc and I want to set up my emails through my server, so I can access emails on outlook on my pc, or entourage on my mac. My emails are through my fasthosts webmail account.

I also want to have access to my emails on my iphone if possible, as at the moment, I can only access emails on my phone if they are still in my fasthosts webmail, as soon as I open them in outlook, they disappear from the webmail and are only viewable on outlook.

Is this possible? If so, what should I be googling for a guide as I'm not sure i'm using the correct search terms as I cant seem to find any help!

In outlook make sure the option to leave the messages on the server is ticked.

  Better than yours. C*nt.
You could go for a full Exchange server setup, but it's a lot of work for not a lot...

Could let google host your email. You can use your own domain name, use IMAP to achieve what you're after (inc. iPhone), and even have access to your email from anywhere through the browser, just like having a gmail account. Best of all it's free, you don't have to worry about backups etc, you get 7Gb of space (per user) and it's really easy to setup.

For IMAP setup in various clients http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?hl=en&topic=12806

sounds ideal for a simple sendmail server.. but if you're not sure about an exchange server you probably won't want to set up a linux one ;)

Your current mailboxes, are they pop or imap accounts? You ideally need to install exchange server, and set your email up through there. As far as accessing them on your iphone, you will need to configure IIS on the 2k3 box and set up OWA and OMA (outlook web and mobile access)...If you decide to go this route, i can write you a guide of sorts and possibly be able to sort you a copy of exchange....
