Emisions Problem, cable.

  Titanium Clio 182
I was driving on the M1 on Friday night and I road over two bits of moving plasterboard and one of them hit the unerneath of my car really hard. I stopped at the services for petrol, turned the engine on and the Emissions light is on now. Looked under the car and some cable is hanging down, not had proper look yet and ive lent my 182 to my brother so can't look until he brings it back.

Hopefully its just unclipped.

Sounds to me like it's hit the sensor that goes into the cat.

I'm going to have a look when I get it back tonight. Will it effect the engine with it not being on?

IIRC (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) there's two sensors. If it's the one in the CAT then it's not so important but if it's the other one then it might not be wise to be driving the car around.

Saying that I wouldn't panic just yet as I could have it all wrong.
