Emissions light!

  S2 106 GTI
My emissions light came on a few weeks ago, and I thought it might be one of the lamba sensors, so rang up renault to find out how much one cost! well they charged the earth for them so i got one off a crashed 172. but my car went to a local Renault dealer for a road test and they put it on the diagnostic computer, it came up with Cat being the problem! I have a sports Cat on my car but its not that old! I changed the rear lamba sensor for the 1 I got off the crashed 172 still the light was on, changed the front lamba, still the light stayed on????? my mate said something about re-setting the car? any help on this would be good!!!! :D

ive had a decat, 100psi sport cat and now a 200psi sport cat and all have made the emissions light come on - mine failed the mot with the 100psi sport cat so now have a 200psi - was hoping the light wouldnt come on but guess im not that lucky! Am gonna get it reset again and see how it goes - goin in for a service at the end of the month so shall be reset then.

If you can start the engine 40 times then the fault will sort of clear the lights as the car things its fixed. But thats unlikly juist get a garage with the computer system to clear the fault. Then unplug the second sensor.
