EML on while driving on motorway

  Liquid Yellow 182
The EML light came on when i was travelling to Birmingham the other day, so took it to a garage to find out whats the problem, they said they seen a fault about cat.converter, with other faults. So they cleared the faults and drove the car for abit to see if one falt would show up so they could pinpoint the main fault, they thought that one fault could show up the others. It didnt come back on, so the still plugged it in, still no faults stored.

I needed the car back that day as they wanted to kee it because i had work, anyway. All ths happened on thursday. No lights came on to and from work. Was going to London on Saturday, good 2 hour drive, and the light came on, on the way back. I read something when i searched catalystic converter, that it could be something to do with the lambda sensor near the exhaust can be reading that there is to much emissions. Therefor the eml is showing up. This has never happend in my year of driving it without going on the motorway.

Ive not paid anything at the garage yet as they said when i come bak from london if its come back on then bring it bak to us on tuesday, but dont know whether to buy one of the cheap fault readers and delete it and see if it comes back witout going on the motorway. If anyone could share there knowledge, would be amazing :)

Sorry about long post (also typing on ipad fast, letters might be missing)

Well you really need it plugging in and seeing what codes are in there now , you can either buy a code reader and read them yourself , or get the garage to do it , but be warned having a code reader and a code saying lambda doesn't necessarily mean its a lambda sensor , it could be neumours other things ! Unless you know what your doing leave it to the professionals as you may end up costing yourself more in the long run !
