Engine balancing

Will be sending my spare engine away for balancing, need to know in what built or stripped condition do I send it away in?

I had my crank, flywheel, clutch, rods and pistons done. Pretty sure they balanced the rotating assemblies and when the weighed the rods and pistons there was a negligible difference (think .2grams). Didn't give them a block or anything just the bits mentioned.

That's interesting, I thought they would test, reassemble, then retest.

This is why I asked, thought that was the whole point :S
Didn't want to go about making my block look all nice and new if it was going to get knocked around.

well the block doesn't rotate, so i don't think they can balance that

only the items that rotate need balancing, http://www.vibrationfree.co.uk/index.html think there's some info on there (good company BTW)

obviously. I thought they rotated the crank in situ to check bearings etc. You learn something new every day
