Engine bay

  S13
Been doing various bits to the engine bay today, including the fitting of a single wiper kit, it's now pissing down with rain, and I mean hammering down so it's impossible for me to carry on.

I've put a cover over the car but the bonnet isn't completely shut it's at the stage after you pull the release cable and there's no rain gutter bit by the window can't remember what it's called. Basically my question is, is my car going to get fucked up by leaving all these bits off, does it matter if the engine bay gets wet? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I don't know the answer so..

The cover on it looks like it's deflecting most of the water, but it's made of umbrella sort of material which as far as I'm aware after a while starts to let water through..

Another question along the same lines: has anyone bought one of these single wiper kits? I'll be buggered if I can get the b*****d to fit it's taken me 2 hours to this point and all I've managed to do is get the old one out, put the new linkage on and it doesn't seem to turn enough to be able to move the wiper the whole width of the window..

Cheers,

Rob.

Don't see much point in the single wiper kit to be honest.

Take it its a Mk2, should be alrite with the bonnet as the scuttle panel acts as a drain - it doesn't just pour straight into the engine bay

It hasn't really got much of a point other than you just have one wiper instead of two as far as I'm aware..

<-- The car's a mk2 ph1. I'll just have to hope for the best I suppose, it's been out there long enough now that I guess it's not going make much difference if it spends the whole night out there.

Cheers for the reply though buddy.
