Careful with stainless steel. They don’t rust but any other metal in contact, particularly aluminium, will corrode extremely quickly. As in days and weeks.
It’s a big problem with sailing boats, stainless steel fittings on aluminium spars.

Plating them is fine mate, but in my experience the plating process that the manafactors use seems to be more robust.I was planning on yellow zinc plating them , do you think this will help ?
Or am I best off buying Renault bolts and yellow zincing them?
