Was heading towards chester the other day in the 172, when all of a sudden, the oil warning light came on, thought this was weird as it was only topped up not long ago. Anyway there was a Renault garage around the corner, socarried on at around 40 heading towords it when all of a sudden, there was a couple of thuds, then the car started to slow, then came to a stand still. I got out of the car and there was Oil everywhere, it was all over the engine bayand all over the road, I was gutted had no idea what had happened and though Renault are going to F**k me for this.
Got towed in and the lady in the service department was looking at me as if I had written off the car. Anyway after4 long days of no communication off them, they finally get back to me. Turns out the garage that did my last service didnt do it properly and the oil filter basically buggered up.
The good News, today I am having a brand new engine installed. it was 14 months old and had done 30K and now I can start again, though I have to run it in all over again.
