Engine cleaning?

I want to get my Engine cleaned up and all the black plastic bits are filthy is there anything you can get to get them cleaned up and shiny again my dad said he thought there was a engine laquer stuff which shined it all up to make it look new. But i havnt a glue anyone know of anything?

can use that back to black stuff or just give it a scrub

Autogym tyre shine works a treat.

wat just get the dirt of then spray that on after and give it a scrub. Just blets the engine down when bits are dirty.
