Engine conversion wiring. (please help me)

Hi, Sorry to post on this forum but you guys seem to know you stuff when it comes to conversions on anything renault.

Ive got a 1999(T) megane scenic and have fitted a 1.6 8 valve from a 1997 (R) megane scenic. The white plug the connects engine to car loom mounted on the passenger inner wing (black box) looks the same but doesnt connect. Ive taken each half of the plugs apart and on the engine loom I have a white, black, grey and a blue connectors. On the car loom I have a white, black, grey and red connectors.
Some of the wiring when you compare is the same. Some isnt. Can any one please please help.
A big thanks in advance

swop the wiring loom from the original engine, saves s**t loads of hastle, if not you will need an electrician a there is no way anyone will be able to sort it without looking at it.

is the engine physically the same? if so just change the loom to the one that was on yours orginally.

It used to belong to my friends mum. She really looked after it. Its mint inside and out. The auto box was shot and I coudnt get one second hand and a recon box is about £700. A bit more reasearch and I discovered that the 2.0 engine is rare in a scenic. So plan B was to changed the engine and convert it to manual. Most scenics are 1.6 8 valve
I picked up the engine and got everything to convert it to manual for £275.

according to the Haynes the 2.0 would of wanted a JC5 gearbox. The 1.6 uses a JC3. Then would of needed to source a fly wheel and clutch kit, and change the drive shafts as I think they are different.

JC5 and JB3 as far as i'm aware use the same flywheels, clutches, dirveshafts, the lot, just the upper gearbox mount is different, but you can buy the bits to make it work

you're going to have a right nightmare trying to get the 1.6 unit to work i would think, good luck!
