Engine conversions ?

  Shed.
So to me the most obvious one is the 2L 16v conversion from ktec. But what others have been done and are readily available from a dealer or firm like ktec ?

I know there is the 1.8 turbo, but i didnt know if it was somehitng someone had done themselvs. like the TT conversion. Anyone ever shoved the Mivec in lol ?

someone needs to break the mould and fit a different engine to the usuall Renault.

Vag is a good idea, nice n light. Honda 2.0 would be a good one but then there's the Fiat 20v turbo, Pulsar Gtir (with a 2wd box),

but then there all FWD. when will someone break the mould and build a 4x4 or Rwd clio. I think a Rx7 lump would fit in the engine bay nicely and its very small, the Scooby lump fits (i've measured it) or Evo running gear or Audi TT gear like Gordi did to his VW.

food for thought. ;)

Much tooooo big, and there are much better turbo lumps to stick in (although the inline 5 is smoooth :))

You know, I think someones actually done that. Name begins with an R and ends in enault.... Someone on here is making a RWD non V6 anyway. Plus you can get 4x4 rallycross clios.

heh id never do it, not myself though. RWD is being done btw that stevo guy lol. putting a turbo'd f4r in the rear of his clio isnt he ? trouble is the price. even the f4r costs about 3k fitted. i know the lumpos are affordable but its the reast of the stuff thats the problem.

Im sure they put the 20v lumps in the Uno's so the clio shouldn't be a problem (not that i've measured)

As for the Rwd i ment Front engine Rwd not Mid rear ;) although it would be easyier to throw a lump in the back.

But if you were building a MR clio why o why would you use a Renault engine then turbo it :s

if memory serves me correct and 4wheel drive evo engine clio has already been built!! was shown on here!! and there is a bloke recently who posted up about a rear wheel drive clio with the 2l engine in back if i remember rightly.......... i think more of a motorbike engine like a haybusa that would be fun strip car out and close range gear box like they do with the kit cars

Yer i remember seeing the pics... it looked like it needed allot of work still and didn't someone say it was photoshopped. iv heared of a few mr but no rwd (front engine) that would be allot of fun and still look std ish ;)

as for the MC engine i think the clio is too heavy. even stripped out its gota be 750-800kg..

Cheap ex russian turbo prop with 4 electric motors?

Well, the non-turbo version was fitted as standard into the Brava/Bravo, but it was only 155bhp. That engine is very heavy and not massively tunable, there are much better alternatives to put in it if you are going to go to all the trouble of doing something different :)
