Putting one on goes against the reason it's not there in the first place.

I'm not saying it's heavy. I'm just saying it's one of the things Renault left off the car to save weight.
A lot of little things add up to make a big difference.
I keep my engine cover on. It stops any damp getting to the plug leads and coil pack. I've just fitted an engine damper on the car which meant I had to cut the cover to fit round the mounting bracket. The cover has never rattled and won't if its screwed on properly.
mine is screwed down properly and it rattles on the top and sides of the inlet manifold. you can even see the marks on the cover and inlets where they make contact. it not a very loud but its still a rattle.
