Engine covers?

Car  350z GT
Hey, just bought a 172 Cup and i want a plastic engine cover...so 2 questions...

a) Where do i get one from?

b) How much?

sorry if its a noob question btw lol i know corsa's inside out but atm know nothing about Clio's lol
cheers

ok :D will not fit one then :D :D

1st lesson learned lol...can the silver engine top etc be painted black then maybe?

cheers

The whole point of the Cup was that it was lighter.
One of the things they did to save a bit of weight was remove the engine cover.
Putting one on goes against the reason it's not there in the first place.

True but it is only about 0.5 Kg at most .

I'm not saying it's heavy. I'm just saying it's one of the things Renault left off the car to save weight.
A lot of little things add up to make a big difference.

LOL at weight saving to not fit an engine cover.

That's like leaving your wallet at home, or buying a size 8 shoe instead of a 9.

EDIT: and because it's poverty spec. ;)

I keep my engine cover on. It stops any damp getting to the plug leads and coil pack. I've just fitted an engine damper on the car which meant I had to cut the cover to fit round the mounting bracket. The cover has never rattled and won't if its screwed on properly.

mine is screwed down properly and it rattles on the top and sides of the inlet manifold. you can even see the marks on the cover and inlets where they make contact. it not a very loud but its still a rattle.

mine was touching about in the same spots. now it hangs on the wall
if it's a cup, then no cover
if not and rattles, definitely remove it
