engine cut out with a bang

hi thought i would test the clio sport out tonight went up the bypass put my toe down, wheels span alittle znd the engine cut out hazzards came on and the was a knocking noise (could be the exhaust) but why did the engine cut out??? it wouldnt start for around 5 mins then fired and drove fine? HELP! thanks

engine could have cut out as it had any number of faults maybe the knocking of the engine affected a sesnor if your worried take it to a garage with the correct equipment to read the fault codes

I'd go get it checked at a garage if it was me.

yes drives fine now geting it booked in the joys of clio ownership

probably a bad electical connection on the battery or similar
