Engine cutting out

  Motorbikes
Been doing this for a while now, about 8 times I think... usually when i'm in traffic or just utting the engine on.

Basically the electronics warning light will flash at me and the engine will try and cut out, revs will drop really low and I need to give it a bit of welly to stop it from stalling. Once i'm on the move again the light goes out and it runs perfectly.

Anyone know what might be up?

If it helps, the car is a 2001 Y plate mk2 ph2 1.2 16v, 86k on the clock, has a K&N 57i IK, last serviced about January ~ 17k miles ago. I do all my own servicing now as I'm fairly competent and my Dad was a mechanic. Not paying £70 for an oil change :p

Cheers

Also engine is always at normal operating temperature. Never done it when cold.

Its a pain in the a$$. My warranty ran out just a couple of months ago and I knew something would go wrong! Power steering pump is leaking too which I had replaced when I got it. Done 45k since. :(
