White Clio 1.2 @ 172
As above the 15A fuse in the engine bay keeps blowing. Does anyone know what it powers?
It's a Mk2 Ph2 172 02 Plate btw.
Heres the background;
I was driving along just before the snow came and the road was wet. I put my foot down and the wheels span a bit and the engine cut out. I drifted to a safe spot and tried starting the car to no avail. I left the car to head into work and returned later that evening to find that, that fuse had gone. I replaced the fuse with a spare I had and drove home. I thought excellent the problem is solved, approx 1/3 of a mile from home I gave it a bit beans again and the fuse blew again. I replaced it except this time everytime i replaced the fuse it continued to blow as soon as I turned the ignition on.
I pushed the car home and a few days later returned to it after ordering a new electronic throttle as I assumed that was the issue as when it's cold it seemed to have issues (it would either be just open or open quite abit so there was no change in about 1/8th of the pedal if you understand what I mean?
Anyway aside that I returned to the car a week later and replaced the fuse and voila she started again. I went to rev her and boom gone again. Replaced the fuse and doing the same thing again blowing as soon as i go to prime the engine. I left it for a few hours and returned replaced the fuse and boom working again. Until I put the throttle about 3/4 of the way down.
I've tried removing all other fuses and seeing if any are broken. I've stripped the interior down to ensure there are no contacts. I've checked briefly the engine bay to ensure there is nothing grounding. I've tried turning to ignition without the fuel pump, throttle, water pump, coil pack, instrument cluster, headlights everything and the damn fuse keeps popping. I've tried disconnecting the throttle itself but to no avail.
Any advise on what that fuse actually contols would be greatly appreciated or any ideas on what to try next.
Kind Regards
Dean Johnston.
