Engine light

Is it possible to turn off the engine light on a 172 with a fault code reader?

I know with some cars you can leave the battery off to have this effect but this doesn't seem to work on my car.

i think you can mate. you can use one of them rs tuners so i would have thought you could use a fault code reader too, as long as it has the facility to do it.
