Engine management light Clio 1.2 16v 53 plate

Would be great if anyone could give me some advice, I was driving home and my engine management light started flashing. The car also started losing power and is very juddery (best way I can describe it really) its drivable but its always juddery and wont go much above 40mph without struggling. A friend of mine suggested it might be a clogged/dirty oil filter. Was hoping someone with some previous experience or expertise might know what it is straight away before I take it to a garage.

Could be coil packs similar symptoms to mine

I'm in Winchester, not sure what coil packs are (only able to do basic car/engine stuff myself really). Im guessing a code reader is a diagnostics at a garage?

You can get code readers yourself or Renault specific diagnostics off of eBay, not sure how good the readers are but I bought a Renault clip diagnostic tool and it's saved me double what I paid for already

I had this issue last year and it was the coil back that went. That coupled together with my exhasut made it sound like I was in a scooby although I couldnt get much over 40mph haha

Coilpack mate, i had the same thing a few weeks ago. 90 odd quid though so i'd check everything else first!
