Engine management light went off itself?

Engine management light came on in my 04 clio 182 about 3 days ago, was just gonna leave until my car was going in to get the belts replaced but tried that fault finding mode to see if it would show anything. After leaving it running with the needles dancing for about 5 minutes it stopped reading the faults and the light went out? haha

By leaving it running has the car just reset the fault or has it just fixed itself? :L

If it's gone off then there's no problem. Mine dis the same thing and has been fine ever since.
