Engine mount on the way out?

  RS Megane DCi 175
A friend of mine has a 1.2 Dynamique and I noticed quite a bit of movement coming through the gear stick, even when the car was idling.
We popped the bonnet and there seemed to be considerable movement from the engine itself! Quite a bit more than my car and what I'd consider 'normal'.

I've been told there is an engine mount linked in some way to the gearbox and this could be causing the problem if it needs replacing.

Any suggestions as to what it could be? Is it a big job to replace/repair? I'm kinda out of my depth with this stuff - as you might have guessed - so am open to suggestions!

Its the mount known as the dogbone one most likly. Its under the car it attaches the gearbox to the engine shell at about the middle of the car at the back of the engine bay.

Cheers edde - Is it a DIY job or 'better' to take it to garage/dealer - the car is out of warranty too.
