Engine mounts - not sure though

  E39 530i
HI every1, when i step on it in 1st or 2nd, i get a weird "kinda knocking noise" coming from the car, sounds likes its coming from thw wheels but not sure. Sounds like its trying to lay down the power and is "juddering" :S

What could it be? the cars a ph1 172 on a y plate 2001.

Could it be engine mounts?? Sounds like the noise fubar car is making in the video he posted up.

yeah, it is... however my mounts are far from worn so you just have to get used to it ;)

they might need adjusting, but i dont know how.

my engine mount on the left looks as if the rubber is always touching the metal? can i just unbolt the mount and hit it so that the rubbers arnt touching?

if there find y do they make that noise

you try keeping a 172bhp 2.0l lump of an engine still, inside a little clio's shell!... however my problem lies deeper, i believe the O/S mount is the cause of another problem im having now.

yes mate, you can simply unbolt it and move it a bit... obviously dont undo the bolts all the way, just loosen them :)
