engine noise

just got my 172 and when warm idling a get a tapping noise from the engine, when he car is 1st started and cold there is no noise it seems to come after the cars been driven for a bit and warmed up its only at idle and goes when the acclerator is pressed. any ideas on how to stop this ? i havent got a clue when it comes to these things lol

yes i checked and did an oil change on it about 2 days ago got 5w40 in it is this the right oil?

oils ok. you sure it's not just engine characteristic?

Don't the timing belts slipping a tooth cause this sometimes ?

hi i think it could be the hydraulic lifters. get somthing called forte about 20 pounds a chemical put it in should be fine. if not and gets louder u talking about 300 plus if it is that. dont drive it hard lol.

i think its the lifters as i said though its only when the engine is warm it doesnt make the noise when its 1st started. it sounds a bit like what a half the KAs engines sound like when they stop but not as loud if that helps anymore lol
