Engine Number - For first Tax registration

Long and short we have a Clio at work which is a demo car (currently on trader plates) and it came from France. They have rung Renault in the UK they said sorry can't help with it not being from this country using the VIN then asked why we even had it.

Anyway it's a MK3 with a supercharger on it and we can't get down in the engine bay enough to see the engine plate (next to the dipstick so im told?) Can anyone get an engine number from a VIN for me at all please? Or know any better solutions.

Renault epc isn't the best for info tho tbh.

That just tells you how to read the VIN, it wont give him an engine number.
If its not yet registered, I doubt anyone in this country will have a lookup that works.

Try renault france?

I have access to the Renault UK epc, but it's not the best, just looking on my vin, don't think it gives out engine numbers unlike most others.

Just spoke with my manager turns out they got one of the mechanics on it and he managed to get in the engine somehow and got the code. Really don't know how! Tighter than a nun in that engine bay!
