More fun with the 16v. Over the last few days the valver has been refusing to start and everytime I turn the key the solenoid clicks on the starter but thats it. Anyway I tried loads of s**t and it still wouldn't work so today tried to turn the engine over by hand incase the unthinkable had happened. Anyway, it took a lot of force on a 0.5 metre breaker bar on the crank pulley to turn it over. After I got it going round it went fine till the same point on the next revolution where again I needed to put in a lot of force to turn it. After turning it over a few times it was going fairly smoothly but I though I had best check the oil etc as something was clearly far from right. When I check the oil level it was shown as being 2cm above the max on the dipstick, even though it was shown as just below the max a few days ago. I then removed each spark plug and shone a torch in to see the condition of the pistons to find that 3 looked as you would expect and one (no.3 cylinder) looked oily or watery (just looked wet on the surface of the piston).
As you can imagine I am mightily pissed off about this as it looks as though I have a fucked engine. Anyone got any ideas what exactly might have happend??? I'm guessing at the minute I am probably going to be looking at a new engine needed but amn't really too sure what I'll do.
Thanks.
