Engine Revving on its own??

I brought an 02 Clio 2.0 sport in December and recently it started to randomly stall when coming up to junctions and when you put the clutch in the at junction etc the engine keeps revving itself up to 2000 revs. I think after researching it abit it might be the temperature sensor as when I brought it the temperature went haywire (60 degrees external temp then just went off) and it takes a few moments for the heater to come on, but I’m not sure.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hows the best way to check that then?

It could be a vacuum leak, its were it sucks to much air in causing revs to be higher, you had the inlet mani off recently?

Not done anything to in since brought it, so not a clue if its been off
