Engine runs sh*t when cold

  Clio sport 172
Right, a few months ago the problem started. When the engine is cold the car runs like crap. It happens about 95% of the time.once the engine warms up it runs like new.
When your driving there is a slight flat spot about 2000 - 2500 revs and sometimes a slight judder/ misfire. It feels like the car is holding back. This all goes away when the engine is warm.
It has been to 3 different garages and in that time I have changed the coil pack and leads, ecu, oxygen sensor, plug gaps been checked, timing is spot on, and compression check carried out.
Anyone on here experienced/ing the same thing.
I'm no moto mechanic but could there be a fault to do with the automatic choke, if I'm talking crap just say because like I said I'm no mechanic haha

Any help or ideas appreciated

They all run bad when cold mate. Dont know why though, but I know it is a common problem. Hopefully you never gave those garages to much money:eek:

I have heard that they run bad when cold when they get older.just think it's very odd and there should be a way to sort it?? :-(

From my own expeirience i just allow the engine to warm up nicely. You can't expect to floor it when it's cold and it will run sweet as a nut lol ( not saying that you do that ). I have two motorbikes and they run totally s**t when they are cold to. Just need to take it easy for a mile or two.

I know what u mean with the bikes, I've got a cr250 and I always let it tick over till warm otherwise it's unridable until is. Maybe it has something to do with allowing the pistons and rings to expand to create a perfect fit.
