engine swap out

currently im driveing an e7j 1.4 8v clio i heard a 172 could be dropped in place of this my question is could i do this ? my current engine is near ready to die so it wouldnt b to expencive for me to do this

if you searched you would know if will fit.

But why not just buy a 172, they are very cheap now!!

yes it could be fitted (if you search you will find lots on this subject) but bear in mind you will need:

Engine
Gearbox
ECU
Driveshafts
engine mounts
brakes
suspension


Plus a lot more, and at the end you will have spend more converting yours than you would have actually buying a proper renaultsport, and yours would be more to insure and worth less.
