Engine swap

Would like to know if it's worth spending money out on my mk2 1.2 as in about a years time i either want a bigger engine or a new car (will stick with a clio if it's a new car) which option would be cheaper. If it's a new car then wont spend much on the car i have. The cars an 8v would it be a big job going to a 2.0 16v

Buying a 172 is very cheap now however its not the same as a hybrid you pay your money.
For a trnaplant including brakes suspension etc its £1.5k+vat then say £700~1k fitment if you find someoen who wants to do it ot do it yourself (not difficult just need the right tools and patiance) for free.
