Engine Temperature

When driving my car takes a while to get up to halfway on the temperature gauge as well as randomly taking a sudden drop in engine temperature. Car still seems to run fine but something must be going wrong?

2002 1.2 16v engine btw.

Got an air lock in your coolant system?

How would I tell?

Yeh they all take that sudden drop, how long does it take ? What max rpm you do on cold ?

No more than 3k till its warm. It does it consistently throughout driving, about 10 mins to get warm whilst driving.

O right ok yeh mine does it once after about 2-3 mins then 4-5 mins its up to temp on the gauge dont forget its a bit warmer here lol, so air lock sounds about right.
