engine trouble starting

my car has trouble starting sometimes lately....i turn the key and it will turn over then die and struggle if i dont rev it.......my first thought is it need some new plugs, its a mark2 172 on a 51 plate and has done 50K.....could it be something else? cheers guys

Change these and it should get better

I find occasionally my 51 plate 172 wont start if ive reversed it out of the garage then turned it off to go get my work bag etc. 5 minutes later when im trying to start it again it just dies after 1 second, wait a minute then try it again and its fine.
