Have done some work on the airbag. I need to reset the error codes. Can you get a fault code reader for the abc and if so where from

what work did you have done? if your airbag went off and you fitted a new one then you will need to fit a new computer

Passenger side airbag went off.
Had a new computer .
I'm changing the seats so replacing the airbag is not an option.
I have wired in a resistor as described in the guide elswere on this site, to trick the abc into thinking there is an airbag.
It is still showing a fault. I want a reader so I can find out what its still flagging up and reset it. At £68 a pop I don't wanna have renault reset it. I'm confident I've wired the resistor correctly but I dont wanna risk it.

If you want the air bags removing from the circuit (fitting buckets etc) then the fault has to be cleared before you can remove them. If the seat airbag has gone off then it may be the rear passenger inertia real sensor that needs changing. it could be anything and you cant find out until its pluged into the clip. if your anywhere in the north go to specialist renault breakers they will plug it in for £30 ish and in the south try Mike at rentech

Rear passenger enertia reel has been replaced already. I wired in the resistor so that it thinks the airbag has been replaced. The abc was replaced at a renault dealership, as was the enertia reel. I told them to leave the airbag and front passenger pt as i was going to fit a resistor inorder to remove them. When I had wired it up i expected the warning light to go out but it didnt.

Is it possible to get your hands on an error code reader and DIY it.

No it can only be diagnosed by the Renault clip, some garages will have snap-on/sykes diagnostic tools but you need an expensive add on to read airbag systems.

how did renault program your airbag computer with the seat wire not connected? did they change the pre-tensioner too?

Rigth the passenger PT and side airbag fired, The Rear drivers side PT fired (even though no one was there),

The ABC and Rear drivers side Pt have been replaced.
The passenger airbag and PT have not been replaced because I intended to remove them and fit bucket seats. (Which I did today)
I have fitted a resistor to make the ABC think that the passenger side airbag and PT are still there.

I don't know how they programmed it. I don't know what it involves. Would all the repairs have to be carried out prior to it being setup then?
