if its got a true 182bhp then i am affraid it will be quicker than a cup, seeing as most are 164-166bhp anyway ~ +14bhp puts the power to weight ratio back in the 182s favour??

No. it loses out by 1bhp to the cup

167 vs 168

Btw the ctr is 163bhp/tonne. hmm

110kg heavier than the 182

and a stonking 199kg more than a cup

They all vary anyway, so you will get good & bad 182s and some "may" make 182bhp DIN (about 179bhp SAE), but not all will...

Still got the extra weight to cope with!

From the figures Ive seen for them all, and I know it aint the best way to compare them:-

0-60s

182 - 7.1s

Cup - 6.8s (EVO say 6.5s but thats a bit optimistic)

Type R - 6.6s (shaves 0.2s from the old one - got this from CAR Magazine - Nov/Dec 03)

Now compare the stats with their fair equals.

the 182 figures are from the manufacturer.

Im sorry but until a roadtest with a vbox is done you cannot say how fast the 182 really is.

Autocar has roadtested the CUP @ 6.5secs 0-60 and 16.9secs 0-100. Thankyou please!

If the Cup is faster than the 182 does that mean your gonna enjoy your car less ?

Well mine was RR @ 180 hp so what does that do to the p/w/r 182 vs my Cup :D

Most "good" Cups will easily make 172 hp FFS they can do mid 14 1/4 miles!

You know it and I know it.. ;) had the same situation when I was looking, decided the 172 was the best out of the lot. (before the 182 which is what I would buy this time round)
