ESP it seems to handle better in the wet while off

rite let me get this rite 1st, if the the esp button is pressed once and the light comes on the dash then the esp is off???

For some reason i have been thinkin if the light is on then the esp is turned on, so i always put it on and have been driving with it on constantly

my car seems to skid more when the light is off, tonight in the rain it was shite ( light was off ) but as soon as i turned it on i seemed to have better control of the car.

I was thinkin maybe its my tyres which are crap thats not giving me much traction.

one more thing i wanna ask is, if you press the esp button once then press it again so the light goes back off the dash does that turn TC off. It seems as if alot of people say its the same thing but i thought if u pressed the esp button twice it switched the lot off

Even when the ESP is on, I think I'm right in saying it's only active when it flashes on on the dash.

I leave it on because I never notice a difference on the road, on the track is another story though.

yeah i have had the light off which im assuming means esp is on from readin other threads and i have gave it some beans at the lights and the light flickered meaning it must have been working

If your not a ultra confident driver I'd leave it on. A rs won't kick the tail out with it on and you will get no wheelspin when the wheels are turned. Turn it off and the tail will come out and feel a little looser. I know Clio rs handling inside out and I only turn it off in the dry. I owned a 172 cup so ya can live without it but does seem to be advantageous in the wet.

im a good driver and confident just dont trust it in the wet, it slid right across the road going round a bend tonight but i reckon its just my cheap tyres falkon somethings

i was only saying i have been driving with esp off for months coz i thought if the light is on its switched on ( dont read manuals )

I switch it off everytime I fire up the car.

I'm not a complete tool though. When the road surface is bad, I switch it on. No point being a hero to prove a point, imo. ;)
