ET Offset, what's the magic number?

Car  BG 182 & 225 T
I'm just getting my head around how to work out the offset and ET of different wheels,

but what ones fit a 182, or does it depend the ride height?

Basically after what ET fits so I can go looking for new shoes, I.e ET20 ET-25

cheers

Have a look for online wheel calculators. They will show you how different they will be, compared to original wheels. Just enter the proposed wheel size and original. Ride height has nothing to do with it. (Unless your car's lowered, then extra rubbing maybe an issue)

I never realised there was such a thing, but got all my answer from it thanks!! I noticed you edited your comment, as mine is on coilovers so can be adjusted to it will not rub or scrape!

cheers

^^ Very true. A 6.5J rim with a 32 offset will fill the arches the same as a 7J with 38 offset. Quite a few things to account for when trying to get the right look.
